Triumph of Girls: J&K Class 12 Results Reveal Stellar Performance Amidst Challenges.

In a landmark achievement under the Uniform Academic Calendar (UAC), the J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) today announced the combined annual class 12 results, revealing a notable 74 percent overall pass rate across Jammu and Kashmir. This year’s results are particularly significant, showcasing the exceptional performance of female students who secured the top positions in all streams.
The overall pass percentage reflects an inspiring trend: 77 percent of female students passed the exams, compared to 72 percent of male students. This marks a commendable stride toward gender parity in education within the region.
Exam Enrollment and Outcomes
A total of 93,340 students were enrolled for the class 12 exams. Out of these, 69,385 students successfully passed, marking a solid achievement. Within the successful cohort, 25,435 students achieved Distinction, 33,437 secured First Division, 10,318 attained Second Division, and 195 students managed Third Division. However, 22,921 students were declared to Reappear, 1,034 were declared ‘Failed’, 54 were absent on the exam day, 82 faced disputed eligibility issues, 4 resorted to unfair means, and 8 were disqualified.
Science Stream: A Parade of Excellence
In the Science stream, Adeeba from Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Nowhatta, led with an extraordinary 494 marks out of 500, translating to an impressive 98.8 percent. Following closely, five students—Aamina Rashid, Aisha Riyaz, Jannat Afaq, Priya Kour, and Tooba Qadri—each secured 98.6 percent, sharing the second position. The third position saw a tie among six students—Aarzoo Rafiq, Afreena Jan, Mahika Pandoh, Namanpreet Singh, Zaara Noor, and Ziya Shabir—each achieving 98.4 percent.
Commerce Stream: Stellar Scores
In the Commerce stream, Anushah Gul and Wafa Feroz Kadla of Green Valley Educational Institute, Ellahibagh, shared the first position with an exceptional 99.6 percent. Aida Omar and Mumin Showkat Kadla secured the second position with 98.6 percent each, while Pooja Choudhary and Saamiya Manzoor shared the third position with 98.2 percent.
Arts Stream: Leading with Distinction
The Arts stream saw Basna Shah of Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothibagh, achieve the highest score with 99 percent marks. The second position was shared by Hoor Sajid and Seidra Mukhtar, each with 98.8 percent. The third position was a four-way tie among Athar Nabeela, Faheem, Lateef, Sabira Ali, and Sharmeen Shah, each securing 98.6 percent.
Home Science Stream: Consistent Excellence
In the Home Science stream, Ainain Niyazi of Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Baramulla, claimed the top position with 98.8 percent marks. Aaliyah Parvez from Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothibagh, secured the second position with 97.4 percent, and Ruqiya Sultana from the same school achieved the third position with 96 percent.
