NCC Combined Ceremony conducts at EJM College Leh
Leh, April 17:
The NCC Unit of EJM College, Leh successfully organized a grand NCC Combined Ceremony – Freshers, Farewell, Rank Conferment, and Felicitation Programme at the college campus today. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from NCC cadets, faculty members, and distinguished guests.
The programme was graced by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh, Prof. Saket Kushwaha as the Chief Guest. The Guest of Honour for the occasion was Dr. Tswang Mutup, while other dignitaries included the Lt Col Randeer Singh Commanding Officer of 1Ladakh Battalion NCC, Leh, Dr. Samina Iqbal, and the Principal of EJM College Leh, Prof. Stanzin Yangdol.
The programme began with a warm welcome address by Captain Dr. Ujwala Koche, Associate NCC Officer, followed by an impressive presentation showcasing the remarkable achievements of NCC cadets.
A variety of cultural performances added vibrancy to the event and highlighted the talents of the cadets. The ceremony also included felicitation of cadets selected for the Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2025 and 2026, as well as those who participated in the prestigious Mount Everest Expedition.
A significant segment of the programme was the Rank Conferment Ceremony, where deserving cadets were awarded ranks in recognition of their leadership and dedication. Additionally, cadets who successfully completed their B and C Certificates were felicitated.
The Chief Guest, in his address, appreciated the discipline and commitment of NCC cadets and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in all fields.
Before the formal proceedings, a two-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to Colonel Sonam Wangchuk, honoring his service and sacrifice. The solemn tribute added a moment of reflection and respect to the event.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony celebrating both freshers and outgoing cadets. The event ended on a note of pride, unity, and inspiration for all present.
