DIET Leh Commences Second Batch of Winter Training Programme

Under the aegis of the Education Department, UT Administration of Ladakh, DIET Leh commenced the Second Batch of the Winter Training Programme in collaboration with Golden Mile Learning, scheduled from 2nd to 6th February 2026. The programme focuses on English Teaching Skills and Lab Integration for Class VIII teachers of Government Schools from Leh–Chuchot, Khaltsi and Kharu educational zones, along with English teachers from private schools, with 37 participants.
The inaugural session was addressed by Shri Mirza Mehdi, Principal, DIET Leh, who welcomed the participants, subject experts, officers from Golden Mile Learning, and RTT Indigenous Trainers. This was followed by an overview and opening address by Smt. Rinchen Angmo, District Supervisor Golden Mile Learning.
The programme commenced with a Day One workshop on Communication Mastery and Child Safety by Shri Irfan-Ul-Salam, DIET Leh. From Day Two to Day Five, the training focuses on English Grammar teaching (Tenses), CBSE Poorvi textbook integration, and lab-based pedagogy, facilitated by LAHDC-RTT Indigenous Trainers Ms Tashi Zangmo, Ms Spalzes Angmo and Ms Diskit Dolma, who are professionally certified educators selected from 400+ trained English teachers across six educational zones of Leh–Ladakh. English Lab Integration sessions are being conducted by Shri Tsering Tundup, Lecturer, DIET Leh.
The training is being academically supported and observed by Golden Mile Learning, with offline monitoring by Shri Vishvanath Kakulde, Subject Expert and Observer, and online academic guidance by Dr. Neepa Oza, Programme Director, Golden Mile Learning (Education) along with ground support for implementation by GML.
The programme aims to strengthen classroom practices, promote effective lab integration, and build a sustainable ecosystem of locally empowered teacher trainers, contributing to long-term academic excellence in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
