DGP J&K Leads Comprehensive Review of Border Security Preparedness
Senior Officials Assess Operational Readiness Along Samba-Kathua Belt.

Jammu : Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, Shri Nalin Prabhat, IPS, conducted a thorough review of border preparedness in the Samba-Kathua region. Accompanied by Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Shri Anand Jain, IPS, and senior officials from BSF, CRPF, and the J&K Police, the DGP assessed measures to counter infiltration along the International Border (IB).
The DGP laid a wreath at the memorial of Assistant Commandant Vinay, honoring the sacrifices of personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
2. Border Security Review
The team inspected forward posts along the IB, evaluating fencing, patrolling mechanisms, and surveillance systems. Discussions centered on enhancing coordination among security forces to ensure a robust and foolproof security grid.
3. Technology and Synergy Focus
The DGP stressed the need for seamless communication and collaboration among agencies. He highlighted the importance of integrating advanced technology with field operations to tackle infiltration challenges effectively.
4. Insights from Ground Personnel
IG BSF provided updates on the deployment of modern surveillance tools, while DIG JKS Range and SSPs of Kathua and Samba shared insights into cross-border trends. Troops were lauded for their dedication in guarding the borders under challenging conditions.

Operational Visits to SOG Camps
In a late-night assessment, the DGP and senior officers visited multiple Special Operations Group (SOG) camps near the border. They evaluated operational readiness and provided directives for further strengthening anti-infiltration measures.

The visit concluded with a call for heightened vigilance in light of evolving threats. The DGP reaffirmed the commitment of security forces to safeguard the borders and protect civilians. “A holistic approach combining manpower, technology, and community engagement will ensure that our security grid remains unbreachable,” he stated.
