Jammu : Demonstrating extraordinary devotion and resilience, the daily Maha Arti at the Tawi River Front was successfully conducted on Tuesday despite heavy rainfall, power outages, and multiple technical disruptions. The sacred ceremony, organised by the Arti Team under the aegis of the Shri Raghunath Ji Corridor Vikas Council, witnessed the participation of thousands of devotees who remained steadfast in their faith despite the inclement weather.
The Maha Arti, held at the newly developed Aarti Ghat along the Tawi River Front as part of its regular spiritual programme, encountered significant challenges following a sudden downpour. The heavy rain disrupted the power supply, rendered the sound system inoperative, and soaked the seating arrangements prepared for devotees.
Undeterred by these difficulties, the organising team ensured that the rituals continued without interruption. Mobile phones were creatively used as alternative sources of light and sound, allowing the sacred ceremony to proceed seamlessly. Devotees stood in the rain, chanting hymns and participating wholeheartedly, creating an atmosphere that organisers described as spiritually uplifting and deeply divine.
The overwhelming participation despite adverse weather reflected the strong spiritual bond of the people of Jammu with the sacred River Tawi and reaffirmed the growing significance of the daily Maha Arti as a symbol of faith and community unity.
Chairman of the Shri Raghunath Ji Corridor Vikas Council and President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (J&K and Ladakh), Rajesh Gupta, expressed gratitude to the Arti Team, volunteers, local residents, and devotees for their unwavering support. He said the event was not merely a religious ritual but a powerful testament to the devotion, resilience, and unity of the people of Jammu, adding that the community’s faith remained unshaken even in the face of adversity.
He also appreciated the relentless efforts of the organising team, which worked under extremely challenging conditions to ensure that the Maha Arti was conducted with dignity and without any disruption to its daily schedule.
Among those who played a key role in coordinating and managing the event were Pankaj Ji, Rajan Ji, Vijay Ji, Dr. Naseeb Ji, Sahil Ji, Nakul Ji, Kishay Bhatia, and Nikhil Ji. Their collective efforts, along with the Arti Purohits, ensured the smooth continuation of the ceremony despite the power failure, sound system breakdown, and heavy rainfall.
The Shri Raghunath Ji Corridor Vikas Council also extended its sincere appreciation to everyone who continues to support and participate in the daily spiritual event.
Initiated last year, the daily Maha Arti at the Tawi River Front has steadily emerged as a major spiritual and cultural attraction in Jammu, drawing increasing numbers of pilgrims, tourists, and local residents while further strengthening the city’s identity as a centre of faith, heritage, and cultural pride.
