Thana Divas Organized at Sumber Dharmkund; SSP Ramban Addresses Public Grievances

Ramban: A Thana Divas was organized today at Sumber, located about 35 kilometers from the district headquarters, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Dharamkund. The programme was addressed by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban, Arun Gupta.
The event witnessed active participation from citizens belonging to various sections of society, including representatives of political parties, prominent members of civil society, and local residents of the area.
During the proceedings, members of the public put forth their grievances and issues related to police and civil administration. The prominent concerns raised included maintenance of law and order, drug abuse, and awareness regarding cybercrime. SSP Ramban listened patiently to the grievances and assured the public of prompt and fair action in accordance with the law.
Emphasizing the importance of strengthening police-public relations through trust-building measures, the SSP urged citizens to cooperate with the police in maintaining peace and communal harmony. He also encouraged the public to make effective use of helpline numbers such as 1933 MANAS, 1930 for reporting cyber fraud, and 112 ERSS in case of emergencies. Awareness was also imparted about the Rahveer Scheme of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).
The participants appreciated the initiative taken by Ramban Police and expressed satisfaction over the open interaction platform provided by the department.
Later, the SSP also conducted a meeting with members of the Peace Committee Sumber, sensitizing them about emerging challenges and their vital role in maintaining communal harmony in society. He further briefed Village Defence Group (VDG) members about their responsibilities in generating intelligence inputs, maintaining communal harmony, and preventing crime by acting as force multipliers.
Ramban Police reiterated its commitment to transparent, accountable, and people-friendly policing and assured that such public outreach programmes will continue to be organized in the future.
