The meeting was attended by Ms. Deldan Angmo, Chief Education Officer, Leh; Sh. S. D. Namgail, Principal, DIET Leh; Principals of Higher Secondary Schools; Zonal Education Officers; and Headmasters of High Schools of Leh district.
A detailed analytical PowerPoint presentation on the Pre-Board results of Classes 10th and 12th was presented during the meeting. The presentation highlighted the overall performance of schools and provided a subject-wise analysis, identifying areas requiring improvement and subjects in which student performance needs greater attention.
During the review, it was observed that the average pass percentage in certain subjects remains considerably low, particularly in Mathematics, Science, Physics, Chemistry, Economics and Geography. The Director emphasised that these subjects require special and focused attention from every school.
The Director directed all Heads of Institutions to undertake additional academic efforts, remedial teaching and targeted interventions in the identified subjects. Teachers were advised to analyse the performance of individual students, identify learning gaps and provide appropriate academic support so that students are better prepared for the forthcoming Board examinations.
The Director further stressed that improvement in results should not be limited to examination preparation alone, but should involve continuous monitoring of learning outcomes, regular assessment, timely remedial measures and close academic supervision at the institutional level. All schools were urged to work collectively towards improving the overall pass percentage and ensuring better learning outcomes.
The meeting also reviewed the physical and financial progress of various components under Samagra Shiksha 2026–27, with emphasis on the timely implementation of approved activities and effective utilisation of resources for strengthening school education.
