Press Release Team Led by Hon’ble Executive Councillor Tashi Namgail Yakzee Inspects Preparations for His Holiness Skyabgon Chhetsang Rinpochey’s Visit to Durbuk Sub-Division

Leh, 15 May 2025: A team led by Hon’ble Executive Councillor Tashi Namgail Yakzee, Rural Department,accompanied by Nominated Councillor Ven. Konchok Tsepel conducted a one-day visit to multiple locations in the Durbuk Sub-Division of the Changthang region to review preparations for the upcoming visit of His Holiness Skyabgon Chhetsang Rinpochey. The tour focused on ensuring timely completion of ongoing works and effective coordination with local authorities and communities.

The team began at Durbuk Monastery, assessing work progress alongside officials from the concerned department and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Durbuk Sub-Division. They stressed the urgency of completing pending tasks to meet required standards.

Next, the team visited Chilam, the designated site for a plantation drive led by His Holiness. They reviewed arrangements and urged local authorities to prioritize preparations for the event.The team then proceeded to Chibra to monitor ongoing work progress. They expressed satisfaction with the efforts but emphasized the need to complete critical tasks promptly. The team called on the public and local communities to collaborate in expediting remaining work, prioritizing key projects.

Lastly, the team visited Spangmik Monastery, where His Holiness will deliver a two-day teaching session. They inspected preparations and directed officials to ensure all facilities are ready to accommodate king’s visit seamlessly.

Addressing contractors, the team instructed strict adherence to timelines while maintaining quality standards. They highlighted the significance of His Holiness’s visit and urged collective efforts to ensure its success.
