Saspol, : The Department of Horticulture, LAHDC Leh inaugurated the newly constructed Horticulture Development office/ training centre at Saspol.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson, in the august presence of Hon’ble Executive Councillor (Horticulture) Shri Ghulam Mehdi, Deputy Commissioner LAHDC Leh, Shri Santosh Sukhadeve (IAS), Sub Divisional Magistrate Liker, and Director Horticulture, UT Ladakh, Shri Tsewang Punchok and formally dedicated the facility to the public.
In her welcome address Chief Horticulture Officer, Leh Smt. Kunzang Wangmo warmly welcomes all the dignitaries and guests. She briefed the gathering on the aims and objectives of the Department and emphasized the importance of this building in the Saspol. The building was constructed under the District plan Budget through implementing agency R&B Division Khalsti. She express that construction of this building would play a vital role in uplifting the local farming community by offering hands-on training, awareness programmes and streamline implementation of Departmental schemes tailored to the farmers need.
Addressing the gathering, Hon’ble Executive Councillor (Horticulture), Shri Ghulam Mehdi, congratulated the farming community and expressed satisfaction with the timely completion of the project. He reiterated the council’s dedication to the sustainable development of the horticulture sector across the district.
The event also featured a vibrant cultural performance by students of Government Higher Secondary School, Saspol, who presented a traditional Ladakhi dance, which received much appreciation from the audience.
Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were Director Tourism UT Ladakh, Smt. Kunzes Angmo, Director Social Welfare, UT Ladakh Smt. Tashi Dolma, Director Health, UT Ladakh Dr. Tashi Thinless, Executive Engineer, R&B Division, Khaltsi Shri. Thinless Zangmo, Chief Horticulture Officer, Kargil Shri. Ali Raza, Deputy Director, Command Area Development Smt. Tashi Dolma, Saspol Nambardar and villagers.
The event concluded with a positive note to further strengthen Horticulture Development, enhanced livelihood and economic empowerment for the people of Saspol and nearby areas.
