Nubra, 30 may, 2025: The Forest Ecology and Environment Department officially launched Environment Week on 30th May with a series of impactful activities aimed at promoting environmental awareness and conservation across Nubra Valley.
The week-long initiative commenced with a cleanliness drive at Khardung La Top, one of the highest motorable passes in the world. The event saw enthusiastic participation from tourists, Army personnel, and department officials, highlighting a strong community spirit toward environmental responsibility.
Following the cleanliness drive, a tree plantation program was organized at Khardong village, where local tree species and evergreen saplings were planted.
