DC Leh attends 62nd Raising Day of Civil Defence at UTDRF Leh
Leh, December 6, 2024: The Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve attended the 62nd Raising Day of Civil Defence at UTDRF Office Leh today on December 6. Civil Defence Day is observed every year on the same day, to raise awareness among the public and underline the relevance of civil protection.
During the event, appreciation certificates were distributed to Civil Defence Personnels for their outstanding service. Mementos were also presented to the Deputy Commissioner Santosh Sukhadeve and Additional Superintendent of Police Rigzin Sangdup by Superintendent of Police Pradeep Singh.
The Deputy Commissioner in his address emphasised on the contribution of civils or locals in different wars and their contributions towards Arm Forces and Police in situations like flood, flash flood or other disasters. He added that information related to crime should be informed to Police to help them solve cases.
He also underscored the need to work against social evils such as Drug Addiction which is prevailing in the society at a very fast rate. He added that these negative elements need to be controlled to make the society a prosperous one.
The programme was attended by Superintendent of Police Pradeep Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police Rigzin Sangdup, Deputy SP Mohd Baqir and other officers and officials from UTDRF and other departments.
