M.K. Sinha Takes Over as ADG CID J&K; Nitish Kumar Posted as ADG Armed

Srinagar: Senior IPS officer M.K. Sinha on Friday took over as the Additional Director General of Police (ADG), Crime Investigation Department (CID), Jammu and Kashmir, following the transfer of Nitish Kumar, who has been posted as ADG Armed J&K.

Sinha, a 1996-batch IPS officer, was serving as ADG (Headquarters), Police Headquarters (PHQ) J&K, prior to his new assignment. He formally assumed charge at the CID Headquarters and subsequently chaired a meeting with senior officers of the department to take stock of its overall functioning.

During the meeting, Sinha reviewed various aspects of the CID’s intelligence and investigative set-up and interacted with senior officers regarding the functioning of different wings. The meeting formed part of his initial assessment after taking charge of the important assignment.

Nitish Kumar, a 1999-batch IPS officer, was serving as ADG CID J&K besides holding the charge of Director, State Investigation Agency (SIA), J&K. With his transfer, Kumar will now take over as ADG Armed J&K.

The change marks a significant reshuffle among senior police officers in Jammu and Kashmir, with both CID and Armed Police being key components of the J&K Police structure.

Senior officers and personnel at CID Headquarters welcomed Sinha on assuming charge and assured him of their full cooperation and support in carrying out the responsibilities of the department. They also conveyed their best wishes to Nitish Kumar for a successful tenure in his new assignment as ADG Armed J&K.
