Hon’ble Justice Sindhu Sharma, Judge, High Court of J&K and Ladakh and the Executive Chairman
, Ladakh Legal Services Authority visited the new District Court Complex, Melongthang, Leh, today on 18/07/2026. Lordship was warmly received by Ms Spalzes Angmo, Pr. Distt. & Sessions, Judge, Leh along with judicial officers, Shri Nawang Nurboo, Director Prosecution along with prosecuting officers, Adv Gonbo Stobgyal, President, Bar Association Leh, along with advocates of district bar association, Leh and staff members of the district court, Leh. During the visit, lordship inspected all the court rooms and the daily proceedings of the court and issued necessary directions for mitigating hardship of the litigants. Lordship also held separate meetings with judicial officers and prosecuting officers, Advocates and staff members and heard the grievances of all the concerned. After the inspection, lordship flagged off two multi utility vehicles sanctioned in favor of the DLSA, Leh and Kargil each which would facilitate in the working of both the legal service institutions in providing legal aid to the needy. Lordship also inspected the new Advocate’s chamber and handed over symbolic key to the representative of the bar association, Leh. The functioning of the Advocates Chamber at the new court complex shall facilitate the litigants in easy access to the advocates for presenting or defending their case in the court.
