Health Department Sham Conducts Intensified TB Screening Camp at Yangthang Village.
Khaltse, July 28, 2026: The Health Department, District Sham, conducted an intensified Tuberculosis (TB) Screening Camp at Yangthang Village under the ongoing TB Elimination Campaign. The initiative was aimed at the early detection of TB cases, raising community awareness, and ensuring timely diagnosis and treatment.
During the camp, healthcare workers screened members of the local community for symptoms of tuberculosis and provided awareness on the disease, its modes of transmission, preventive measures, and the availability of free diagnosis and treatment services under the National TB Elimination Programme.
The programme reflects the Health Department’s continued commitment to achieving a TB-free society through proactive community outreach, early case detection, and strengthened public health interventions. Residents were encouraged to remain vigilant, seek timely medical consultation for persistent symptoms, and actively support the Government’s efforts towards eliminating tuberculosis.
