Empowering Education: Launch of Contextualized Learning Resources in Leh.
On May 1, 2024, a significant step towards educational empowerment unfolded in Leh as the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET Leh) introduced contextualized learning resources aligned with the guidelines of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) under the NIPUN Bharat initiative.
The initiative, named “Jaduui Pitara,” was launched to cater to the unique educational needs of Leh’s diverse linguistic and cultural landscape. Included in this endeavor are posters, storybooks, teaching and learning materials, rhymes, and a NIPUN Bharat calendar, all thoughtfully crafted in Bhoti and Balti languages for the FLN Schools of Leh District.
To acknowledge the dedication and contribution of individuals behind this innovative project, DIET Leh organized felicitation programs. Resource persons, designers of storybooks, videographers, digital content creators, and voice recorders for NCERT NISHTHA on the DIKSHA portal were honored during the event.
The presence of esteemed guests, including Director of the School Education Department, UT Ladakh, Tsering Paldan, added significance to the occasion. The program witnessed the participation of around 35 felicitators, Principals, Zonal Education Officers, and Head Masters, symbolizing the collective commitment towards enhancing educational standards in the region.
Amidst the celebrations, the retirement of Chetan Dorjey, Principal of DIET Leh, marked the end of a remarkable 33-year journey of service to the Department. His contributions and leadership were lauded, serving as inspiration for future endeavors in the realm of education.
This initiative reflects the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders, including the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Leh, the District Administration of Leh, and support from the Press Information Bureau (PIB) of the Government of India and Akashvani Leh.
With the launch of contextualized learning resources, Leh takes a significant stride towards fostering inclusive and effective education, ensuring that every child has access to quality learning opportunities tailored to their cultural context and linguistic heritage.
