Div Com Jammu and ADGP Review Preparations for Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2024.

Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, and Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu, Anand Jain, today visited Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar to review preparations for the forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra (SANJY) 2024. The visit was part of a comprehensive effort to ensure all arrangements and facilities for the pilgrims are in place well before the yatra begins.
Key officials present during the review included the Commissioner of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), DIG JSK Range, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, SSP Jammu, SSP Security, SSP Traffic, and senior officials from the CRPF, Tourism, Health, PWD, Jal Shakti, and other concerned departments.
The meeting covered the status of various ongoing works at Yatri Niwas, including the face-lifting of the entry gate, resurfacing of roads, leveling of the parking ground, whitewashing, renovation of washrooms, and repair works of air conditioning units and fans. The installation of lights and floodlights was also reviewed, along with other maintenance tasks inside Yatri Niwas aimed at providing the best facilities to the yatris.
The Div Com directed that all renovation and up-gradation works be completed by June 20. Senior officers from the concerned departments, along with the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Jammu, were instructed to monitor the daily progress of these works.
Health facilities, prefab toilet arrangements, ticket counters, RFID counters, langar sheds, installation of dustbins, provision of mobile SIMs, ATM services, and super bazaar facilities were also reviewed to ensure comprehensive support for the pilgrims. The PWD was tasked with maintaining a smooth road surface around and inside Yatri Niwas, while adequate signage and display boards were to be installed for the convenience of the yatris.
The Commissioner JMC was directed to ensure the clearing of bushes and cleaning of Yatri Niwas and its surroundings, with sufficient manpower allocated for sanitation. The Div Com emphasized the need for increased manpower and machinery to ensure early completion of all works.
Following the meeting, the Div Com and ADGP conducted a spot inspection of the works and issued further directions. Discussions on security arrangements were also held, with instructions to ensure all necessary preparations are completed within the given timeframe.These efforts are aimed at ensuring asmooth, safe, and well-organized Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2024 for all pilgrims.
