District Police Sham Intensifies Crackdown on Illegal Liquor; Two Cases Registered at Police Station Khaltsi
Khaltsi, 29 June 2026: As part of its sustained drive against the illegal manufacture, possession, and sale of intoxicants, a police party from Police Station Khaltsi conducted raids at various locations in the Khaltsi area on 29 June 2026. The operation was led by INSP. Tsewang Norboo, SHO Police Station Khaltsi.
During the raids, the police party recovered approximately 50 litres of illicit liquor (Lahan) from the possession of Tara Tamang R/o Nepal and Tsering Angmo Sherpa R/o Nepal. The recovered contraband was seized on the spot in accordance with legal procedures.
Accordingly, FIR No. 28/2026 and FIR No. 29/2026 under Section 50(1) of the Excise Act have been registered at Police Station Khaltsi, and further investigation has been initiated.
Senior Superintendent of Police, District Sham, Shri Aijaz Malik (KPS), appreciated the efforts of the police team for their prompt action and dedication in curbing illegal activities. He reiterated District Police Sham’s commitment towards maintaining law and order and taking stringent action against those involved in the illicit liquor trade.
