DIG Udhampur- Reasi Range Assessed Preparedness and held Coordination Meeting for SANJY 2026

UDHAMPUR:A coordination meeting was chaired by Sh. Shiv Kumar Sharma, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udhampur–Reasi Range, with the SSP Udhampur, Commanding Officers, supervisory officers and Company Commanders of various security forces deployed for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2026 duties in District Udhampur with special focus on
Coordination, Duties Briefing, Guidelines, Contingency and Mock drills.
The meeting was attended by the Sh. Amritpal Singh IPS, SSP Udhampur, Sh. Manoj Kumar, CO CRPF 137th Bn, Sh.M.D.Sazid, CO CRPF 187th Bn, Sh.Sandeep Bhat-JKPS, Addl.SP Udhampur, Sh.R.L.Meena, DC, Sh.Tilak Raj, AC SSB, Sh.N.S.Chauhan, 2 IC Comndt. Sh.Avinash Patel, AC(GD) SSB, Sh.Rajeev Kumar, AC, Sh.Vinod Kumar, AC, Sh.Shivendra Yadav, AC/GD BSF, Sh.Dharamvir Paswan, AC, Sh.Rupesh Kumar, AC 216BN Odisa, Ms.Barleen Kaur, Dy.SP SOG Udhampur, Sh. Jatinder Singh Sambyal, Dy.SP DAR Udhampur, Sh.Prehlad Kumar, Dy.SP Hqrs. Udhampur, Sh. Pankaj Soodan-JKPS Dy.SP Traffic Udhampur, Sh.Sukhvir Singh, SDPO Chenani, Sh.Masoof Ahmed, Dy.SP HD/CD/SDRF Udhampur and other officers of police/capf detailed for SANJY duties in district Udhampur.
During the meeting, the DIG reviewed the accommodation plans and took stock of the security arrangements and overall preparedness for the smooth, safe and incident-free conduct of the Yatra. Detailed deliberations were held on area domination, route security, convoy protection, access control measures, inter-agency coordination, communication protocols, emergency response mechanisms and deployment strategies at vulnerable and sensitive locations.
Emphasizing the importance of seamless coordination among all stakeholders, the DIG directed the officers to maintain the highest standards of alertness, professionalism and vigilance throughout the Yatra period. He stressed the need for effective intelligence and information sharing, prompt response to any contingency and strict adherence to SOPs to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims.
A detailed coordination meeting on SANJY 2026 duties was also held at DPL Udhampur, wherein comprehensive briefings were given regarding operational responsibilities, duty allocation, guidelines, contingency planning and conduct of mock drills to ensure preparedness for all possible scenarios during the Yatra.
The DIG appreciated the dedicated efforts of the security forces and expressed confidence in their capability to provide a secure and conducive environment for the pilgrims undertaking the holy pilgrimage.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the collective commitment of all security agencies to work in close coordination and synergy for the successful, peaceful and secure conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
