Srinagar : In a significant announcement that marks the onset of the sacred month of Dhul Hijjah, the Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam Farooqi, confirmed on Friday evening that the crescent moon has been sighted. This event heralds the beginning of Dhul Hijjah 1445 A.H, starting from June 8, 2024 (Saturday), with the Eid-ul-Adha festival to be celebrated on June 17, 2024.
The Grand Mufti, in his statement to the media, proclaimed, “The crescent for the month of Dhul Hijjah 1445 A.H was sighted today, and subsequently, the month of Dhul Hijjah will begin from tomorrow, June 8, 2024. Eid will be celebrated on June 17, 2024.”
