Ramban : Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban Arun Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Varunjeet Singh Charak, and other senior officers, conducted an extensive inspection of the National Highway-44 (NH-44) four-laning project from Nashri to Banihal to assess the progress of key infrastructure works ahead of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.

During the visit, the officers reviewed the status of ongoing construction activities, including tunnel works, viaduct construction, blacktopping, installation of crash barriers, and road widening along the strategically important highway stretch.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for timely completion of all pending works and directed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and executing agencies to expedite construction activities. He stressed that all essential infrastructure should be completed well before the commencement of the annual pilgrimage to facilitate safe, smooth, and hassle-free movement of pilgrims as well as regular commuters.

The inspection focused on ensuring road safety, improving traffic flow, and strengthening preparedness for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. The officers also reviewed measures being undertaken to address potential bottlenecks and enhance overall travel convenience on the highway.

Senior officials reiterated the administration’s commitment to close monitoring of the project and coordinated efforts among all stakeholders to ensure seamless connectivity and efficient traffic management during the pilgrimage season.
