DC Nubra Conducts Extensive Tour of Panamik Block to Review Developmental Works and Public Issues
Nubra, May 9, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Nubra, Shri Mukul Beniwal IAS, conducted an extensive tour of various villages in Panamik Block to assess developmental works and interact with local residents of Border villages.
The visit marked his first official tour following the announcement of Nubra as a separate district.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected Government High School Panamik, Government Middle School Kobet and Medical Sub-Centre Kobet. He also interacted with village representatives and residents of Kobet, Ayee, Aranoo Yokma, Aranoo Gongma, Khemi and Nungsted.
Additionally, he visited Tongsted, Henachy and also interacted with the residents of Changlung, Sasoma, Taksha, Hargam, Phukphochy, and Panamik villages.
During the interactions,the Deputy Commissioner congratulated the residents of Nubra being declared a new district and addressed various developmental and public welfare issues, including construction of link roads, development of community halls, improvement of irrigation channels, issues related to the Jal Jeevan Mission, power supply issues, drinking water sample collection, fair distribution of seeds, strengthening of Medical Health Centres, and the requirement of community health workers in remote villages. The need for opening a bank branch in the area was also highlighted.
DC Nubra stressed the optimum utilisation of existing infrastructure until new facilities are developed. He also reviewed enrolment and staff requirements in schools, Anganwadi centres, and Balvatikas. Concerned authorities were directed to submit the physical and financial status reports of various ongoing developmental projects in the villages.
The Medical Officer was instructed to ensure regular outreach schedules in far-flung villages to provide timely healthcare services. Emphasis was also laid on the conservation and protection of ponds and reservoirs.
The Deputy Commissioner assured the residents that their genuine concerns would be addressed on priority in coordination with the concerned departments. He further stated that necessary followup instructions would be issued to all departments and directed the authorities to work proactively for effective implementation of developmental works and timely redressal of public grievances.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Tehsildar Sumoor, Tashi Jorgais, SHO Panamik, along with concerned departmental heads and officials.
