As the devastated faces of Chashoti village in Kishtwar reflect the fury of nature’s cloudburst, hope glimmers in the form of relentless leadership and heroism on the ground. Spearheading the rescue mission is Shri Shridhar Patil, IPS, DIG Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban, a name now etched in the collective courage of Jammu & Kashmir.
The moment disaster struck, DIG Shridhar Patil sprang into action, personally descending onto the battered ground to oversee every nuance of the operation. Setting up robust control and monitoring units, Patil established a nerve center for coordination, ensuring Jammu and Kashmir Police worked shoulder to shoulder with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Army, and other emergency resources.
These tactical moves transformed daunting terrain into corridors of hope for hundreds stranded or injured.
In an impassioned message that cut through panic, DIG Patil appealed to the community:
“Remain calm. Do not fall prey to rumors. Timely updates regarding all injured will be provided. We are committed to evacuating and providing swift medical treatment to every affected resident.”
True to his word, rescue teams, under his personal direction, evacuate the injured for immediate treatment, racing against the clock and currents to save every life possible.
Patil’s presence is not just strategic, but deeply reassuring, inspiring both civilians and his personnel to keep faith and persevere.
Jammu & Kashmir Police: United in Valor
The collective spirit of Jammu & Kashmir Police shines through this operation, reflecting Patil’s ethos. Officers move tirelessly, risking personal safety in the face of flash floods, landslides, and treacherous weather. Their coordination with SDRF and medical teams has provided lifelines, shelter, and critical care amid heartbreak and destruction.
As misinformation swirled in the chaos, DIG Patil’s leadership waged war not just on natural disaster, but on panic urging truth, unity, and collective patience.
His assurance that all information will be timely and accurate has anchored anxious families across the district.
Tonight, as Kishtwar mourns its losses and counts blessed survivors, one truth shines: when calamity threatened to wash away hope, DIG Shridhar Patil and the Jammu & Kashmir Police re-forged it, brick by brick, soul by soul.
Their bravery illuminates the darkened valley, offering comfort that even when nature roars, humanity stands tall and unbowed.
