DIG Udhampur-Reasi Reviews Security Arrangements for Ongoing Amarnath Yatra

Udhampur: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Udhampur-Reasi Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma (IPS) chaired a fortnightly review meeting to assess and strengthen security arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY).

The meeting was attended by SSP Udhampur Amritpal Singh (IPS), Additional SP Udhampur, DySP Headquarters Udhampur, DySP DAR Udhampur, DySP PC Udhampur, SDPO Chenani, all Zonal Officers, and Supervisory Officers/Company Commanders of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) deployed for Yatra duties.

The review focused on evaluating the effectiveness of en-route security measures, convoy management, area domination, inter-agency coordination, and overall operational preparedness to ensure the safe and smooth movement of Yatra convoys through the district.

During the meeting, the DIG sought firsthand feedback from officers deployed on Yatra duty regarding operational challenges, ground-level experiences, and logistical requirements. He emphasized the need for maintaining heightened vigilance, alertness, and seamless coordination among all security agencies.

Sharma directed all officers and personnel to continue implementing robust security measures and remain prepared to respond swiftly to any emerging situation. He stressed that ensuring the safe, secure, and uninterrupted passage of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra convoys through their respective jurisdictions remains the highest priority.
