UPSC CSE 2025 Final Result Declared; Anuj Agnihotri Secures AIR 1

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday declared the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025, recommending 958 candidates for appointment to various services, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS).
According to the official announcement, Anuj Agnihotri secured the All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the examination. Agnihotri, who holds an MBBS degree from AIIMS Jodhpur, cleared the exam with Medical Science as his optional subject.
Rajeshwari Suve M secured the second rank with Sociology as her optional subject. She is a B.E. graduate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Anna University, Chennai.
The third rank was secured by Akansh Dhull, a B.Com graduate from the University of Delhi, with Commerce and Accountancy as his optional subject.
Raghav Jhunjhunwala, who completed B.A. (Hons.) in Economics from the University of Delhi, secured the fourth rank, opting for Economics as his optional subject.
Ishan Bhatnagar, a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) graduate from National Law University, Delhi, secured the fifth rank with Sociology as his optional subject.
Among the top five candidates, there are four men and one woman.
Top 25 candidates
The top 25 candidates include 11 women and 14 men. Their educational backgrounds span diverse disciplines such as engineering, humanities, science, commerce, law, medical science and mass media.
Many of the successful candidates graduated from premier institutions including IITs, AIIMS, National Law Universities, Delhi Technological University, Anna University, University of Delhi and University of Mumbai.
The optional subjects chosen by candidates in the top 25 include Anthropology, Commerce and Accountancy, Chemistry, Economics, Electrical Engineering, History, Mathematics, Medical Science, Philosophy, Political Science and International Relations, Public Administration and Sociology.
Exam statistics
The Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025 was held on May 25, 2025. A total of 9,37,876 candidates applied, out of which 5,76,793 candidates appeared for the exam.
From this pool, 14,161 candidates qualified for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, which was conducted in August 2025.
Following the written examination, 2,736 candidates qualified for the Personality Test (interview stage).
After the final stage, the Commission recommended 958 candidates for appointment, including 659 men and 299 women.
Candidates with disabilities
The list of recommended candidates also includes 42 Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).
This includes 10 orthopedically handicapped candidates, 14 visually challenged candidates, nine hearing-impaired candidates, and nine candidates with multiple disabilities.
