SVEEP team, Leh organised a cricket match to promote voter awareness and participation on April 9 at NDS ground, Leh.
The objective of the event was to engage with citizens directly, disseminate information about the importance of voting and encourage voter registration among eligible individuals.
District Election Officer, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve who was the chief guest greeted the players and the match officials before the start of the match. He was accompanied by SMLT – IT Application & State Nodal Officer, SVEEP, UT Ladakh, Dr Tsewang Morup and District Nodal Officer, SVEEP, Leh, Tajamul Ara.
The cricket match was played between the teams Shelkhar and Blue Wings. The teams played the match donning the SVEEP jersey. The toss was conducted in the presence of State SVEEP Icon, Phonsok Ladakhi and was won by Shelkhar team who chose to bat.
The winning trophy was bagged by Shelkhar who won by 110 runs. Phuntsog Wangdus of Shelkhar team was named as the man of the match.
Joint Chief Electoral Officer, UT Ladakh, Sonam Chosjor, State Nodal Officer, MCC, Sonam Nurboo and other officials were present during the match.
