The Holy Cave of Shri Amarnath Ji, located in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, is considered one of the holiest shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva. Each year, thousands of devotees undertake the challenging pilgrimage to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. The site is known for its natural formation of a Shiva Lingam made of ice, believed to wax and wane with the phases of the moon.
Rajesh Gupta, the Working President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), has recently voiced his concerns regarding certain media reports. These reports have suggested that Lord Shiva’s presence in the Holy Cave has diminished or disappeared, using phrases like “Bhagwan Shiv Antardhyan ho gaye” (Lord Shiva has disappeared) and “Bhagwan vilupt ho gaye” (Lord Shiva has become extinct).
In his detailed statement, Rajesh Gupta emphasized the following points:
Spiritual Presence:Gupta highlighted that Lord Shiva’s presence in the Holy Cave is not confined to the visible ice formation but extends to spiritual manifestations often experienced by devotees. He remarked, “Lord Shiva’s presence there is not only limited to humanly visible formation but also in the forms which are so many times spiritually experienced by human senses.”
Respect for the Divine: Rajesh Gupta critize the media statements as disrespectful to the omnipresent nature of Lord Shiva. He stated, “Statements in some media, like ‘Bhagwan Shiv Antardhyan ho gaye, Bhagwan vilupt ho gaye,’ etc., are utter disrespect for the Omnipresent.”
Call to Devotees:He urged devotees to remain steadfast in their faith and not be misled by such media propaganda. “Devotees, who are going to the Holy Cave to seek Lord Shiva’s Blessings should not get carried away by such propaganda in some sections of the media,” Gupta advised.
Appeal to Media:Rajesh Gupta made a heartfelt appeal to media professionals to refrain from making comments that could hurt religious sentiments. “I appeal to brothers and sisters in the media that please don’t hurt our sentiments by commenting on the appearance, shape, or size of Lord Shiva at the Holy Cave of Amarnath Ji, His Abode,” he urged.
VHP’s Stand:The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has consistently advocated for the protection and respect of Hindu religious sites. Gupta’s statement reflects the organization’s commitment to safeguarding the sanctity of the Holy Cave and the sentiments of millions of devotees.
Rajesh Gupta’s appeal underscores the sensitivity and reverence associated with the Holy Cave of Shri Amarnath Ji. His call for respectful media reporting aims to ensure that the sanctity of this revered pilgrimage site is upheld and that devotees can continue their spiritual journeys without doubt or confusion.
