UT-Ladakh flagged off the distribution of organic manures procured under Special Development Package (Subsidies)by Cooperative Department, Leh

Leh, March 8, 2025: Sh. Bhupesh Chaudhary, IAS Secretary Cooperatives, UT-Ladakh flagged off the distribution of organic manures procured under Special Development Package (Subsidies)by Cooperative Department, Leh from the Cooperative Cold Storage premises, Agling today on 08.03.2025. He further informed that as per Organic farming Initiative of the LAHDC and UT-Administration, the Cooperative Department has been reducing the procurement of chemicals fertilizers over last 3-4 years by around 30% per year with corresponding replacement with good quality organic fertilizers of different variants viz vermi-compost, PROM and Bio-potash respectively to provide a balanced organic matter for improved soil health and productivity. He further added that the year 2025 has been declared as International Year of Cooperatives by Union Nation under which nation wide campaign on organising various programs, workshops on importance and role of Cooperative Societies for which Action Plan targeting various stakeholders in Cooperative sector , has been formulated for both the Districts of UT-Ladakh which has been started since January,2025.
Earlier, the Deputy Registrar Cooperative Department, Leh Dr Mohd Abass intimated that about 2000MT of various types of organic fertilizers such as PROM as substitute to DAP , has been procured for distribution during the cropping season 2025 and said that the distribution will be made through various PACS and departmental field functionaries and said that today’s program has been organized as part of Celebration of International Year of Cooperative 2025
