One of the most significant expansions under the JSCP is the extension of e-bus services to border areas such as RS Pura, Ramgarh in Samba District, Kathua, and Vijapur. A senior officer remarked, “This initiative has brought considerable relief to the residents living near the borders, fulfilling a longstanding demand for improved transportation facilities.”

Currently, around 90 high-tech e-buses, equipped with amenities like heating for winters and air conditioning for summers, are operational. The JSCL has decided to deploy the full fleet of 100 e-buses this month. These modern vehicles are designed to provide a comfortable travel experience year-round, with fare charges comparable to existing government-regulated rates. Passengers can travel distances ranging from 3 to 10 kilometers for just Rs 10, ensuring affordability and convenience. The e-bus services has started on inter-city routes covering Udhampur, Katra, and Kathua.
