Three-Day National Workshop on Competency-Based Curriculum Held at National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh

Leh, May 1, 2025: The National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa. Leh hosted a “Three-Day National Workshop on Competency-Based Curriculum and Syllabus for Third Professional BSRMS” from 28.04.2025 to 30.04.2025. The three-day Physical Workshop was successfully by organized by the Board of Unani, Siddha and Sowa-Rigpa under the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), New Delhi, at the National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa (NISR), Leh.
The workshop was formally inaugurated by Prof. Dr. K. Jagannathan, Hon’ble President of the Board of Unani, Siddha, and Sowa-Rigpa, NCISM. New Delhi, in the auspicious presence of Vaidya Jayant Ducopujari, Hon’ble Chairman, National Commission for Indian System of Medicine, New Delhi. The inaugural session began on 28/04/2025 with a warm welcome address by Dr. S. Mathukumar. Hon’ble Member. Board of Unani, Siddha, and Sowa-Rigpa. NCISM, New Delhi. Dr. Padma Gurmet, Director. National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa. Leh, felicitated the gathering, appreciating the collective efforts towards the advancement of Sowa-Rigpa education.
An introduction to the competency-based curriculum framework and the Higher Education Standards (HSET) aspects was presented by Dr. Mohan Ramachandran Joshi. Chief Coordinator of the Curriculum Development Program. During the three days workshop all the committee members have extensively deliberated to develop a Competency-Based Curriculum and Syllabus for Third Professional BSRMS. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Tashi Dawa, Chief Coordinator for the Third Professional BSRMS Syllabus Framing Program.
The workshop witnessed the active participation of 35 eminent experts from various Sowa-Rigpa colleges across India. This gathering marks a significant step toward standardizing and enhancing Sowa-Rigpa education in line with competency-based learning principles.
