The District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti and Department of Social and Tribal Welfare,
UT Ladakh hosted a Capacity Building Program for ASHA and Anganwadi workers on May 11.
The focus of the program was to empower Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers and Anganwadi workers with enhanced understanding and proficiency in reproductive health and hygiene.
Consultant Gynecologist, SNM Hospital, Dr Aysha Malo served as the resource person for the program. She covered an array of topics ranging from the fundamental anatomy of both female and male reproductive systems to menstrual health and hygiene, pregnancy, cervical cancer and vaccine and sexually transmitted diseases.
This was followed by a question and answer which allowed participants to seek clarification and deepen their understanding of the topics discussed.
Gender Specialist, Kunzang Angmo welcomed all participants and expressed gratitude for their active participation. Her remarks highlighted the spirit of collaboration and empowerment that underscored the program’s objectives.
