Leh, September 27, 2024: – Tar Village in Ladakh was honoured as one of the Best Tourism Villages of India 2024 in the Responsible Tourism Category by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. This prestigious recognition was announced on World Tourism Day 2024, and the award was received by Smt. Kunzes Angmo, JKAS, Director of the Tourism Department, Ladakh, along with representatives from Tar Village, Sh. Lundup Dorjay and Sh. Tsewang Namgyal. The ceremony took place during the World Tourism Day celebrations at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, with the Hon’ble Vice President of India Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar as the chief guest, and esteemed guests including Hon’ble Union Minister of Tourism and Culture Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Hon’ble Minister of State for Tourism Shri Suresh Gopi, and Hon’ble Union Minister of Civil Aviation Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu in attendance.
