Jammu: In a significant move to bolster regional security, SSP Jammu, Dr. Vinod Kumar, IPS, conducted a series of crucial meetings with local residents and weapon license holders from the border areas of Arnia, Treva, Sai, Baspur, and Agrachak within the RS Pura Sub-Division. The primary objective of these meetings was to enhance community awareness and foster greater involvement in maintaining security amidst ongoing threats.

The meetings, led by SSP Jammu, were well-attended by senior police officials including SP Headquarters Jammu Irshad H. Rather, JKPS, SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna, JKPS, along with SHOs and in-charges of various border police posts (BPPs). Their collective presence underscored the importance of community-police collaboration in these strategically sensitive areas.

Residents from the border villages actively participated in these discussions, which focused on the current security situation and the persistent threats posed by terrorist activities in the Jammu zone. Dr. Vinod Kumar specifically urged the public to maintain a vigilant watch over the activities of outsiders visiting the border areas, particularly those involved in daily trades like pheri (door-to-door sales) and the movement of vehicles transporting milk and vegetables during early morning hours. He stressed that any unusual or suspicious behaviors should be reported immediately to the nearest police station or post to prevent potential incidents.

The SSP highlighted the importance of community engagement in strengthening security frameworks and preventing terrorist activities. By fostering a sense of shared responsibility, these meetings aimed to create a robust network of vigilance that could act swiftly in response to any threats.
