Jammu: In preparation for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra 2024, a high-level team of senior officials visited Yatri Niwas in Jammu to assess the arrangements and ensure that all necessary facilities are in place for the pilgrims. The inspection team was led by Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Jammu IAS Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu IPS Dr. Vinod Kumar, SSP Traffic Jammu Faisal Qureshi, and Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Commissioner IAS Rahul Yadav.
Comprehensive Inspection
The officials conducted a thorough inspection of the Yatri Niwas, a key transit point for pilgrims undertaking the arduous journey to the holy Amarnath cave. The inspection covered various aspects including accommodation, sanitation, security, and traffic management to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage experience.

1. Accommodation and Facilities:
The inspection team reviewed the lodging facilities at Yatri Niwas, ensuring that the accommodations are clean, comfortable, and adequately equipped to handle the influx of pilgrims. 2. Sanitation and Hygiene:
Special attention was given to the sanitation and hygiene standards at the facility. Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar emphasized the administration’s commitment to providing the best possible facilities to the pilgrims. Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya assured that all necessary arrangements would be completed well in advance. “Our teams are working round the clock to ensure that the facilities meet the required standards and that pilgrims face no inconvenience,” he added.

The inspection team also discussed future steps to further streamline the arrangements.
