Secretary RDD Reviews Himayat Progress, Launches Roadmap for DDU-GKY 2.0 Rollout in J&K

Secretary, Rural Development Department (RDD), Mohammad Aijaz Asad, chaired a high-level meeting today to review the progress of the Himayat scheme and set the roadmap for the rollout of DDU-GKY 2.0 in Jammu and Kashmir.
The revamped DDU-GKY 2.0 (Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana) aims to skill and place 2,248 youth during 2025–26, with a strong focus on emerging sectors such as Information Technology (IT), Green Energy, Telecom, and Cybersecurity, while continuing support for traditional trades.
Special emphasis will be laid on reaching youth in rural and border districts, ensuring inclusive and equitable development across the Union Territory.

Awareness initiatives will include wall paintings, FM radio ads, and pamphlet campaigns to ensure maximum visibility and participation.
