JAMMU :On the night of October 19, 2024, a violent altercation broke out in the Sohanjana area under the jurisdiction of Satwari police station,Jammu. The confrontation led to injuries, property damage, and a police intervention, resulting in the registration of FIR No. 231/232/2024. The clash involved heavy stone-pelting and raised questions about possible bovine smuggling activities , which have long been a source of tension in the region.PSI Harish Chander from Phallain Mandal camp, mentioned interference with police officers trying to defuse the situation. The police have registered the FIR under key sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, including:

Section 132: Obstructing a public servant on duty

Section 191(2): Unlawful assembly

Section 324(4): Inflicting harm through violent means
