Rotary Club Jammu Helping Hand Organizes Langar on Annapurna Day

Jammu:The Rotary Club Jammu Helping Hand marked “Annapurna Day” with a special Bhandara (Langar) held beside the premises of the Jangam Temple, adjacent to Agarwal Dharamshala. Annapurna Day, dedicated to the “Goddess of Nourishment,” is observed across the country as a tribute to Goddess Annapurna, an incarnation of Goddess Parvati. The event embodies the theme of universal nourishment, emphasizing providing food to all, especially those who cannot afford balanced nourishment, fostering a spirit of universal brotherhood.
The Bhandara was inaugurated by Mahant Rajesh Bittu Ji, President of the All J&K Sant Samaj, who delivered a message of peace, brotherhood, and the spiritual significance of Annapurna Day according to Hindu scriptures. He highlighted the importance of this observance during the holy month of Sawan.
Key members of the Rotary Club, including President Rtn. Jaswinder Kuku, Chartered President Karuna Gupta, Secretary R.K. Chohan, and members Rtn. Sushma Shaini, Rtn. Jaswinder Singh, Rtn. Jatinder Mengi, Rtn. Prem Sharma, Rtn. Rohit Gupta, Rtn. Venu Jamwal, Rtn. Sunny Gupta, and Rtn. Sanjay Gupta, played pivotal roles in organizing the event. Their efforts were supported by Mahant Mohan Giri Ji and other temple devotees.
The event saw the participation of people from all walks of life, who came together to celebrate Annapurna Day in a spirit of harmony and inclusivity. The Langar was also graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including DDC member Narayan Dutt Tripathi, Rajesh Gupta of Perfect Time Line, Varinder Gupta, Denish Mahajan, Sonu Ji, Anil Ji, Mahant Mohan Giri Ji, and Mahant Jasmeer Ji.
In his address, Mahant Rajesh Bittu Ji expressed his gratitude to the Rotary Club Jammu Helping Hand for organizing the Langar during the auspicious month of Sawan and Annapurna Day. He also urged everyone to participate in the upcoming Independence Day celebrations on August 15 by ensuring every household displays the Tricolor, with children proudly holding the national flag.
