New Delhi: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah has laid out a robust directive to extend the peace and security success achieved in Kashmir to the Jammu region through an ambitious area domination and zero-terror strategy. This announcement came during a high-level review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir’s security scenario and the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, held in New Delhi.

In a decisive tone, Shah emphasized that the Modi-led government is steadfast in its commitment to eradicating terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir. He instructed security agencies to operate in a mission mode, ensuring rapid and coordinated responses to any threats. Shah declared, “Our fight against terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir is in its decisive phase. We must replicate the security framework of Kashmir in Jammu to ensure comprehensive peace.”

Shah’s strategy underscores an innovative and relentless approach towards cracking down on terrorism. He highlighted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, significant strides have been made in securing the region and these efforts must be sustained and amplified. The review meeting, attended by top-tier officials including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Lieutenant Governor of J&K Manoj Sinha, Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pandey, and senior officers from various security and intelligence agencies, was a testament to the government’s coordinated effort towards maintaining stability in the region. The presence of such high-ranking officials signifies the gravity and urgency of the security measures being discussed.

A focal point of the meeting was the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra, a significant annual pilgrimage. Shah reiterated the government’s priority to facilitate a seamless and safe journey for devotees. “Ensuring that pilgrims can perform their darshan without any difficulty is paramount,” he stated. Last year, over 4.5 lakh devotees successfully completed the pilgrimage, a testament to the improved security and logistical measures.

This year’s yatra, commencing on June 29, promises enhanced safety and comfort for the pilgrims. The J&K administration has meticulously planned to ensure smooth operations, including seamless registration processes, secure convoy movements, upgraded camping and medical facilities, and improved track conditions. Additionally, essential services such as power, water supply, and mobile connectivity have been significantly upgraded.

Shah’s call to action is clear: Security agencies must adopt innovative and coordinated strategies to maintain the momentum against terrorism. The Union Home Minister’s directives are expected to usher in a new era of peace and security in Jammu, mirroring the success achieved in Kashmir.
