Press Release: Yuva Utsav 2024 Celebrated at Leh
Nehru Yuva Kendra Leh, in collaboration with the District Youth Services and Sports Office, organized the District-level Yuva Utsav 2024 at Paras Hall, Leh. The dynamic event, held under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav – India@2047 initiative by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, provided a vibrant platform for young talents to showcase their creativity and initiatives. The Utsav featured a variety of compositions, including cultural programs, painting, poetry, speeches, photography, science exhibitions, and creative writing. The event highlighted the artistic, literary, and scientific potential of youth, fostering a spirit of creativity and patriotism among students and participants.
The Deputy Commissioner/CEO LAHDC Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, was the chief guest at the event. Before the commencement of the program, the Deputy Commissioner (IAS) Santosh Sukhadeve visited all the exhibition stalls and interacted with each student.
Tajamul Ara, Dy Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Leh, welcomed the distinguished guests and emphasized that Yuva Utsav 2024 is a significant platform for youth and students to showcase their talent and creativity. In his address, Deputy Commissioner Santosh Sukhadeve expressed pride in the youth of the nation and encouraged them to contribute to the country’s progress. He highlighted the crucial role of students in the nation’s development and the importance of shaping a bright future for the country.
He also raised concerns about the growing drug menace in Ladakh, urging the students and the community to cooperate with the administration in drug awareness programs to prevent the spread of drug addiction. He further stressed the influence of social media on youth, advising students to use these platforms responsibly and wisely.
Deputy Commissioner Sukhadeve encouraged students to set ambitious goals and pursue their dreams, ensuring success in life. He also advised the careful and judicious use of AI platforms, warning that over-reliance on technology can stifle creativity and personal growth.
Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of being aware of and utilizing government schemes and initiatives to seize opportunities for personal and professional development, urging students to make informed decisions for a brighter future.
The event concluded with a beautiful cultural performance, followed by the distribution of prizes to the winners and participants. The distinguished guests congratulated the winners and expressed their appreciation for the creativity and efforts of all participants.
