Ladakh Pencak Silat Association Successfully Hosts “Asmita Khelo India Pencak Silat Women’s League 2025” in Leh
Leh, 22nd July 2025:
The Ladakh Pencak Silat Association successfully organized the Asmita Khelo India Pencak Silat Women’s League 2025 at the NDS Indoor Stadium, Leh on 20th and 21st July 2025, with the enthusiastic participation of over 150 women and girls from across the region.
The prestigious event was graced by Mr. Abhinav Sharma, Director, who honored the league as the Chief Guest, travelling all the way from Delhi to Leh for this significant occasion. His presence added great encouragement and value to the event.
The Guest of Honour for the event was Shri Tsering Tashi, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO), Leh, who has been a consistent supporter of youth and sports development in the region.

Ms. Abida Afreen, First Muslim woman from the region to summit Mount Everest

Ms. Seerat Fatima and Ms. Huma Salam, National-level Volleyball Players
Their presence uplifted the morale of participants and symbolized the power of dedication and achievement in women’s sports.
A heartfelt note of gratitude was extended to the parents who have supported and stood by their daughters throughout their sporting journeys. Their unwavering encouragement is vital to the continued success of grassroots sports in Ladakh.
The Ladakh Pencak Silat Association expresses sincere thanks to the Asmita Khelo India Women’s League and the Asmita Khelo India Program for creating such an impactful platform. The event stood out as one of the finest league competitions under the Khelo India initiative, fostering empowerment, excellence, and opportunity for women athletes in the region.
Looking ahead, the Association is proud to announce the upcoming 9th Pencak Silat Federation Cup, scheduled to be held in Leh from 2nd to 4th August 2025. We welcome and encourage the continued participation and support of athletes, parents, and sports enthusiasts in making this event a grand success.
