Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme held at National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, at Leh.
Leh, June 28, 2024: The National Commission for Women, in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) organised 98th Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme, supported by the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) at Leh. Hundred entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes (EAPs) are being organized for potential Women Entrepreneurs across India, under
this collaboration.
Ghulam Mehdi, Hon’ble Executive Councillor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh attended the event in the presence of first lady of UT Ladakh, Neelam Mishra, Stanzin Donsal from UT
Secretariat Leh also graced
the occasion.
While addressing local women entrepreneurs, EC Mehdi said that to achieve milestones in a competitive world, the creation of self-help groups plays crucial role in women entrepreneurship.
He further said that Entrepreneurship stands as a beacon of hope for economic empowerment, especially for women in
regions like Leh and Kargil.
He added that women here possess immense potential and resilience, and through this programme, the aim is to provide them with the tools and knowledge to overcome barriers and thrive as entrepreneurs.
He emphasised that the need of the hour is to change the conventional mindset and create a new entrepreneurial venture by using local resources and products.
During the event, an interactive session was held on the challenges of women entrepreneurs and their proactive measures have been highlighted.
Raising the morale of local women entrepreneurs, representatives from the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Harmeet Kaur, presented a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the evolution of women entrepreneurship and threw light on the characteristics of brave women entrepreneurs.
She said that the Ladakhi women can create job opportunities for others in their community by setting up their business ventures. In this regard, they will be given full support and guidance.
First Lady of the UT Ladakh, Neelam Mishra, thanked the officials of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India and other stakeholders for gearing up an event on entrepreneurship awareness in Ladakh.
Throwing light, on the role of women in society, she emphasized that the Development in UT Ladakh is only possible when local women entrepreneurs will pursue their entrepreneur dreams with grit and determination.
The programme was geared up to raise awareness about the women entrepreneurship and the benefits of adopting entrepreneurship as a career choice. In his address, Phuntsog Toldan, Director NIELT, thanked the local women entrepreneurs and guests for active participation in the event.
He said that we are proud to host the entrepreneurship Awareness Programme in collaboration with the
National Commission for Women and Entrepreneurship Development
Institute of India on our campus. This initiative is a golden opportunity for
the women of Ladakh to explore entrepreneurship as a viable career path.
