Preparations Underway for Republic Day 2025: Divisional Commissioner, ADGP Review Arrangements

Jammu: Preparations for the Republic Day 2025 celebrations are in full swing as Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, and Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Anand Jain, reviewed the arrangements during a high-level meeting with Heads of Departments (HoDs) and stakeholders. The meeting focused on ensuring the smooth conduct of the Union Territory (UT)-level event at MA Stadium, Jammu.

Comprehensive Arrangements Discussed:

The discussion covered every detail necessary for the successful celebration of the national festival, including:

Venue Preparation: The Public Works Department (PWD) was directed to undertake immediate repair, renovation, and whitewashing of the MA Stadium. The venue’s facelift will be a top priority to reflect the significance of the occasion.

Seating and Decoration: Detailed seating arrangements and venue decoration were emphasized for dignitaries, participants, and the public.

Sanitation and Cleanliness: The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) was instructed to ensure sanitation, deploy water tankers, and provide mobile toilet facilities during rehearsals and the main event.

Cultural and Contingent Planning:

The School Education Department and J&K Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages were asked to submit lists of student contingents and cultural performers.

Rehearsals for the cultural programs will begin promptly to ensure high-quality performances reflecting the diversity and pride of the nation.

The Army and Police were directed to finalize their parade contingents.

Coordination and Control:

To ensure flawless execution:All departments were directed to appoint nodal officers to facilitate communication and coordination.

A Control Room will be established at the venue with representatives from all concerned departments to manage real-time operations.

Security and Emergency Measures:

ADGP Anand Jain emphasized the importance of robust security arrangements:

SSPs were instructed to deploy adequate personnel and establish security checkpoints at the venue and nearby areas.

The Health Department will ensure ambulance availability, while Fire and Emergency Services will deploy fire tenders at the site.

Traffic and Transportation:

Plans for transportation and parking were discussed to minimize inconvenience to attendees.

The Traffic Police will coordinate traffic management, ensuring smooth entry and exit for participants and the public.

District-Level Celebrations:

The Deputy Commissioners (DCs) were tasked with ensuring smooth Republic Day celebrations at the district, sub-division, and block levels. Flag hoisting ceremonies in all government institutions will be overseen by respective department heads.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from diverse departments, including the Chief Conservator of Forests, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, DIGs of Police, and representatives from the Army, CRPF, BSF, and SSB. Deputy Commissioners and SSPs of Jammu division also participated virtually, highlighting the collaborative efforts for the event.

Preparations for Republic Day 2025 are being executed with precision and planning to uphold the grandeur of the national festival.

Departments have been given clear timelines and responsibilities to ensure readiness.
