REASI: In a significant step toward ensuring the smooth and secure conduct of the upcoming General Elections to the Legislative Assembly (GELA)-2024, *Shri Pardeep Kumar Yadav, IPS*, the Police Observer for District Reasi, presided over a high-level election preparedness review meeting today. Held at the Conference Hall, District Police Lines (DPL) Reasi, the meeting was crucial for assessing the district’s readiness in terms of security and logistical arrangements.

The review meeting was also attended by General Observer for 56-Gulabgarh (ST) Constituency, Sh. Saroj Kumar Sethi, IAS, and *General Observer for 57-Reasi and 58-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Constituencies*, Sh. Avi Parsad, IAS, highlighting the collaborative effort between police and civil authorities. The discussions centered on enhancing the security protocols and infrastructure at strong rooms and other key electoral locations to mitigate any security threats and ensure a hassle-free experience for voters.

SSP Reasi, Gaurav Sikarwar, IPS, delivered a detailed presentation outlining the current security strategy. His PowerPoint presentation provided an overview of the district’s preparedness, showcasing the robust security measures in place to maintain peace and order during the election period.

The meeting was also attended by senior officers from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), including Sh. Nisar Mohamad, Commanding Officer 126 Bn CRPF, and

Satish Kumar Singh, Commandant CISF Unit OHTPP. Their participation underscored the importance of coordination between district police and paramilitary forces in securing the electoral process.

The key points discussed during the meeting included the deployment of forces, strong room security, and the need for heightened vigilance in potentially sensitive areas.
