PM Modi Interacts With Beneficiaries Of Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana via video conferencing, marking a major step in empowering women through self-employment and livelihood generation. As part of the launch, PM Modi directly transferred ₹10,000 each into the bank accounts of 75 lakh women across Bihar, injecting ₹7,500 crore into the state’s rural economy.
Interacting with beneficiaries, PM Modi said the initiative would transform women into “Lakhpati Didis” and accelerate Bihar’s journey towards self-reliance and prosperity. Women from across the state shared emotional testimonies about how government schemes have changed their lives.
Women Share Stories of Empowerment
Ranjeeta Kazi, a tribal woman from West Champaran, expressed her gratitude to PM Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for bringing development to her region. She highlighted the transformation of her village with roads, electricity, sanitation, and education facilities. She said she plans to invest the first installment in buying a pump set for farming and later expand into a flour business to promote indigenous grains.
Reeta Devi from Bhojpur shared how she rose from a goat farmer to becoming both a “Lakhpati Didi” and “Drone Didi,” running a thriving poultry business. She credited schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Nal-Jal Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat for improving her family’s health, housing, and education. She proudly informed the Prime Minister that she is now pursuing an MA in Rural Development.
Nurjahan Khatoon of Gaya district, running a self-help group employing 10 people, said she would expand her tailoring business and hire more workers with the funds. She spoke of how government support had transformed women’s lives, encouraging them to step out of their homes and engage in productive work. PM Modi praised her and urged her to dedicate one day a week to inspire women in nearby villages.
Putul Devi from Purnea said she plans to expand her sweet-making business and employ more people. She thanked the leaders for schemes like the Jeevika Bank, free electricity, and enhanced pensions that have improved living standards for families in her district.
A Major Step for Women’s Economic Empowerment
Speaking after the interaction, PM Modi said the scheme would not only generate employment but also transform Bihar’s social and economic fabric. “When women progress, entire families and villages progress. This is a festival of empowerment,” he said, praising the women for their resilience and entrepreneurial spirit.
With this initiative, Bihar aims to create lakhs of micro-enterprises run by women and accelerate the state’s movement toward self-reliance. The scheme is expected to boost rural incomes, improve nutrition, and create a multiplier effect on local economies.
