JAMMU :In a proactive bid to uphold the sanctity and seamless execution of the upcoming NEET (UG) 2025 examination, Jammu and Kashmir’s top brass swung into action today under the leadership of Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, who chaired a high-level meeting to take comprehensive stock of administrative and logistical preparedness across the Union Territory.
Held at the Civil Secretariat, Jammu, the meeting was not just another routine administrative gathering—it was a strategic war-room session aimed at meticulously orchestrating one of India’s most crucial entrance examinations.
The meeting saw an impressive line-up of senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary (Education) Shantmanu, Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir, all Deputy Commissioners, Directors of School Education from both divisions, National Testing Agency (NTA) representatives, and key officials of the Education Department.
Mission Seamless: Civil Administration and NTA to Work in Tandem:
Chief Secretary Dulloo set the tone with a sharp emphasis on professionalism, transparency, and zero tolerance for lapses in the conduct of NEET. Recognizing the gravity of the examination for lakhs of aspirants, he asserted that the credibility of the civil and police administration would be under the national lens and must emerge spotless.
“The NEET exam is not just another test. It’s a gateway to futures. We must ensure flawless execution and public trust in the process,” Dulloo stated firmly.
He directed all Deputy Commissioners to personally inspect designated examination centres, assess infrastructural and logistical needs, and work in close coordination with City Coordinators of NTA. From basic amenities like seating, sanitation, and water to security arrangements—no stone must be left unturned, he stressed.
To bolster this mission, Dulloo instructed both the Divisional Commissioners to deploy Duty Magistrates at every exam centre and ensure strong police presence for secure and peaceful conduct. “Administrative oversight must be visible and effective,” he said, adding that any emerging issue should be reported directly to his office for swift resolution.
ACS Education to Lead from the Front:
In a key operational decision, Additional Chief Secretary Shantmanu was tasked with overseeing the overall arrangements. He was asked to maintain constant communication with the NTA’s UT Coordinator, ensuring alignment of local implementation with national standards.
Shantmanu assured all stakeholders that his department was already in advanced stages of preparation. He shared that the final list of examination centres would be made available by the NTA tomorrow, and !promptly instructed officials to collect and circulate contact details of all City Coordinators for effective coordination.
Groundwork Underway Across Districts:
Both Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir confirmed that multiple potential centres had been identified, primarily those with a history of hosting major exams. These included colleges and higher secondary institutions with required infrastructure, CCTV surveillance, fire safety, and adequate seating arrangements. Certification from competent authorities is also underway to meet NTA compliance.

The NEET (UG) 2025 examination is slated for May 4, 2025, to be held in pen-and-paper mode using OMR sheets across the country. The application process concluded between February 7 and March 7, and as per NTA’s schedule:
