UDHAMPUR : In a daring and relentless pursuit, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have launched a massive anti-terror operation that entered its second day in the treacherous terrain of the Dudu area in Udhampur district. Following a deadly ambush by terrorists, which claimed the life of a brave Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officer, the joint forces are now on a mission to eliminate the “highly trained terrorists” responsible for the attack.

The operation commenced after militants unleashed gunfire on a joint patrol party in the Cheel-Dudu area of Udhampur on Monday. In the sudden burst of violence, Inspector Kuldeep Kumar, a dedicated and courageous CRPF officer, was fatally injured. Despite immediate efforts to save him, Kumar succumbed to his injuries, attaining martyrdom in the line of duty.

“During area domination patrol at Chill, Dudu, an exchange of fire took place between terrorists and joint parties of the JKP and CRPF. In the encounter, one Inspector of CRPF suffered bullet injuries & has attained martyrdom. Operation continues,” Udhampur police stated.

Tributes to a Hero:On Tuesday, an emotional and solemn wreath-laying ceremony was held at the CRPF 187th battalion headquarters in Battal Ballian, Udhampur. The event saw the participation of senior officials from various security forces, including Additional Director General of CRPF Amrit Mohan Prasad, who personally led the tributes to Inspector Kumar.

Civilian officers, army personnel, and police officials also gathered to honor the memory of the fallen hero. Kuldeep Kumar’s sacrifice was hailed as an act of valor in the ongoing battle against terrorism, a fight that continues to threaten the peace and security of the region.

The officer’s mortal remains were then sent to his hometown in Haryana, where his family and community will honor him as a martyr who gave his life to protect his country.
