JAMMU: In a decisive move, the Union Home Ministry today transferred the investigation of the horrific terror attack on a pilgrim bus at Teryath in Reasi district on June 9 to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). This strategic decision aims to expedite the probe and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The incident, which shocked the nation, occurred when a bus carrying yatris, predominantly from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Delhi, was ambushed by terrorists. The attack caused the bus to veer off the road and plunge into a deep gorge, resulting in the tragic death of nine people, seven of whom were pilgrims, and injuring 41 others.

NIA Steps In: The officials confirmed that the NIA has formally taken over the investigation from Reasi police, registering a fresh First Information Report (FIR) to kickstart their inquiry.
