Today, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha led a high-level meeting to assess the readiness of various departments and agencies for the forthcoming Eid, Navratras, and Baisakhi festivals.
The meeting witnessed the presence of prominent officials including Sh. Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary; Sh. RR Swain, Director General of Police (DGP); Sh. Vijay Kumar, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) overseeing Armed Forces, Law & Order; Sh. Anand Jain, ADGP Jammu; along with Administrative Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and senior officers from both Civil and Police administration.
Lt. Governor Sinha issued directives to the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to personally visit significant religious sites and implement all necessary measures to ensure the smooth execution of the festivals. He emphasized strict adherence to Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines in making all arrangements.
Furthermore, Lt. Governor emphasized the necessity for comprehensive security arrangements, efficient Traffic & Crowd management, identification of appropriate parking areas, availability of essential commodities at regulated prices, formation of inspection teams for regular market checks, uninterrupted water and electricity supply, provision of medical facilities, fire and emergency services, and ensuring sanitation and cleanliness across the festival venues.
The meeting concluded with a consensus on the urgent implementation of these directives to guarantee a seamless and joyous celebration of the upcoming festivals, reflecting the administration’s commitment to the welfare and safety of the public during these auspicious occasions.
