Lt Governor Manoj Sinha Addresses Convocation of Islamic University of Science & Technology

In a momentous event at the Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Lt Governor Manoj Sinha celebrated the university’s 7th convocation by emphasizing the significant achievements of its students and the institution’s role in promoting gender equality and innovation.
Commendable Gender Equality:Out of the 27 students who received gold medals, 22 were girls, showcasing the university’s commitment to gender equality in education. Lt Governor Sinha praised the IUST for setting a “shining example of gender equality.”
Innovative Future:Lt Governor Sinha urged students to continuously innovate to tackle local challenges and contribute to the country’s bright and prosperous future. He stressed that education’s primary objective is to instill higher values and foster independent thinking to shape the nation’s destiny.
Desire & Determination:Highlighting the importance of desire and determination, he encouraged students to harness opportunities and contribute steadily to building a “Viksit Bharat” (developed India).
Transformation in J&K’s Education Sector:
The Lt Governor noted the significant transformations occurring in Jammu and Kashmir’s education sector. He expressed confidence that IUST would become a beacon of knowledge and innovation in the Union Territory.
Lt Governor Sinha acknowledged the remarkable accomplishments of the IUST students, particularly the high percentage of female gold medalists, which underscores the university’s progressive stance on gender equality. He emphasized the need for students to innovate and meet local challenges, aligning their education with the broader goal of national development. Desire and determination, according to Sinha, are essential for students to seize opportunities and contribute to India’s progress.
