Lt Governor Addresses Kisan Unnati Sammelan, Dedicates 500 Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs) to Farmers of Jammu Kashmir

SRINAGAR : Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today addressed the Kisan Unnati Sammelan at the Shalimar Campus of SKUAST Kashmir and launched 500 Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs) across Jammu & Kashmir.
Milestone in Holistic Agriculture Development Program: The inauguration of 500 KKGs is a significant milestone under J&K’s Holistic Agriculture Development Program. These centers will serve as one-stop service hubs, offering comprehensive support from input supply to marketing and technological assistance.
Future Plans: 1500 additional KKGs will be established in the second phase, with completion targeted by the end of this year.
Empowerment Initiative: The initiative aims to empower 13 lakh farmer families, including nearly 3 lakh vulnerable and marginal farmers. KKGs will bridge the gap in agriculture extension services and bring essential services directly to farmers’ doorsteps.
Modern IT Systems: The KKGs will be equipped with modern IT systems to ensure efficient delivery of critical services such as input booking, soil health monitoring, plant diagnostics, market intelligence, and capacity building.
Custom Services: Farmers will have access to custom hiring services, Artificial Insemination, horticulture, and institutional data, ensuring timely and necessary services.
Mobile Application: The Lt Governor also launched the Kisan Khidmat Ghar mobile application, designed to provide comprehensive support to farmers, including credit support, crop price forecasting, decision support, and access to government schemes.
Technological Integration: By integrating IoT, AI, and real-time data analytics, the initiative aims to revolutionize agricultural extension services in J&K.
Commitment to Agriculture: The Lt Governor reiterated the administration’s unwavering commitment to transforming agriculture in Jammu Kashmir, emphasizing the role of KKGs and the mobile application in enhancing productivity and decision-making for farmers.
The Lt Governor commended the contributions of the HADP Apex Committee, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, and other stakeholders in the implementation of the Kisan Khidmat Ghar initiative.
Sh Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary, and other prominent figures spoke on the Holistic Agriculture Development Program and key interventions in J&K’s agriculture sector.
Grant Sanctions: The Lt Governor initiated the grant of sanction letters worth Rs 48 crore to 764 beneficiaries across the UT under HADP.
Engagement with Agri-Entrepreneurs: The event saw interactions with agri-entrepreneurs and farmers who expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided by the UT administration.
