Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the Baltal base camp in the Ganderbal district to review the arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. During his visit, he interacted with pilgrims, service providers, and officials to ensure that all necessary measures were in place for the smooth conduct of the Yatra. He emphasized the importance of seamless coordination and prompt response to concerns raised by the pilgrims .

Emphasis on Safety and Facilities

The LG reviewed various aspects including security arrangements, accommodation, food, telecom connectivity, transportation, power and water supply, sanitation, and health services. He also took note of the installation of fences and CCTV cameras along the route and at critical points to enhance safety. The Yatra, he noted, is not only a spiritual journey but also a celebration of India’s rich cultural heritage.

Eco-Friendly Initiatives and Pilgrim Support:

LG Sinha visited eco-friendly langars set up by the Rural Development Department in collaboration with Swaaha Resource Management. He inaugurated a langar installed by the CRPF and distributed jute bags and vermi-compost bags to pilgrims, emphasizing sustainability. Jackets sponsored by J&K Bank were also distributed to service providers .

Overall, the visit underscored the administration’s commitment to ensuring a safe, comfortable, and enriching experience for all pilgrims participating in the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
